Michigan hiring a 'Director of Internal Communications and Operations for the Head Football Coach'

As Jim Harbaugh criss-crosses the country -- this week he's stopping in Ann Arbor -- he's a magnet for attention whether he wants it or not.
Apparently there's enough of it that the U-M football coach wants someone else to share the burden, er, benefit.
Michigan posted an athletics job today to hire a "Director of Internal Communications and Operations for the Head Football Coach."
From the job summary, it sounds like a liaison with the athletic department, working "directly with the U-M administrators, coaches and student-athletes to promote and maintain a positive brand image for the Michigan football program."
That may be the grunt part of the job that's 80% operations and 20% communications.
The power comes in the responsibilities, especially in communication, which has three of the eight points referring to social media (working Harbaugh's account, the Michigan football account and monitoring the players' accounts), plus: " Update team depth chart on Sundays."
Qualifications are standard in most respects: A bachelor's degree, five years experience in football administration or communications, "creative thinking and ability to think on their feet" and an understanding of the Big Ten and NCAA rules.
The most challenging part, based on Harbaugh's recent months: "Travel with football team and head coach.... On-call availability and periodic overtime."
A dream job? Maybe for some.
But you better hurry. The posting will remain up for seven days, until June 23.
